چکیده

Abstract Introduction Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPEX) provides valuable diagnostic and prognostic cardiopulmonary function data. However, in clinical setting a maximal test is not always achievable. The Oxygen Efficiency Uptake Slope (OUES) has been proposed as possible submaximal measure of it remains relatively stable during the final quartile test. This study explored validity OUES surrogate marker for event Methods Four groups subjects [128 healthy controls (73 M), 44 asymptomatic hypertensive (HT) patients (26 67 adult cardiac congenital heart disease (ACHD) (44 M) 35 Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) (10M) patients] were recruited after informed consent. All underwent assessment, resting ECG, blood pressure spirometry prior to treadmill CPEX volitional exhaustion respiratory exchange ratio (RER) at least 1.1 using same protocol. Peak VO2 (ml/min) was recorded from last 5s (RER=1.1) calculated complete truncated (RER=0.9) gas linear relationships between absolute peak data assessed Pearson's correlation coefficient. Subsequently, two correlations obtained each patient group compared. Statistical significance set p<0.01. Results Mean 95% confidence intervals males females decile life examined 4 subject are shown Figure. values achieved significantly lower when matched age sex compared participants (HT p=0.006, ACHD p<0.001 HFpEF p<0.001). In all there good RER (healthy volunteers r=0.910, p<0.001, HT r=0.899, r=0.816, r=0.846, Correlations inferior 0.9 r=0.74, r=0.780, r=0.651, r=0.817, vs different only (p=0.001, Z-score = −4.649), but (p=0.05, −1.909), (p=0.04, −2.080) or (p=0.7, −0.377) patients. Conclusion Our support use an 1.1, especially patients, whom can often be difficult achieve exercise. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Robustness of the oxygen uptake efficiency slope to exercise intensity in patients with coronary artery disease.

Oxygen uptake efficiency slope (OUES) and ventilatory efficiency (VE/VCO2 slope) are widely used as submaximal measurements of cardiopulmonary exercise testing as the evaluator or prognosticator of cardiac diseases. However, very few studies have compared the effects of submaximal exercise on these measurements. A total of 58 patients with coronary artery disease underwent maximal cardiopulmona...

Oxygen uptake efficiency slope as a useful measure of cardiorespiratory fitness in morbidly obese women

Cardiopulmonary assessment through oxygen uptake efficiency slope (OUES) data has shown encouraging results, revealing that we can obtain important clinical information about functional status. Until now, the use of OUES has not been established as a measure of cardiorespiratory capacity in an obese adult population, only in cardiac and pulmonary diseases or pediatric patients. The aim of this ...

Validation of a Simplified, Portable Cardiopulmonary Gas Exchange System for Submaximal Exercise Testing

Shape Medical Systems, Inc. has developed a new miniaturized, simplified system for non-invasive cardiopulmonary gas exchange quantification and has targeted their system for submaximal clinical exercise testing in order to abbreviate testing in an expanding clinical market during a climate of escalating health care costs. The focus of the present study was to compare this new device to a valid...
